A Safe Place for Meow Incorporated – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all activities, donations, purchases, applications, and website use involving A Safe Place for Meow Incorporated (ASPFM Inc.), ABN 60 520 207 398.
By accessing our website or engaging with ASPFM, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1) Who We Are

A Safe Place for Meow Inc. is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit animal-rescue charity based in the Northern Territory, Australia.
We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), allowing donations of $2 or more to be tax-deductible.

2) Scope of These Terms

These Terms apply to:

• Use of our website and social-media pages
• Adoption, foster, and foster-to-adopt programs
• Donations, fundraising, and raffles
• Merchandise or event purchases
• Volunteer participation and communications with ASPFM

3) Donations

• Donations are voluntary and non-refundable.
• Donations ≥ $2 are tax-deductible under our DGR endorsement.
• Receipts are issued automatically or upon request.
• No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations.
• ASPFM may allocate donations to the area of greatest need unless otherwise specified.

4) Fundraising and Raffles

• Raffle tickets and fundraising purchases are not tax-deductible.
• Participation constitutes acceptance of each activity’s published rules.
• Draws are conducted in accordance with Northern Territory Consumer Affairs requirements.
• Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
• ASPFM may modify or cancel a fundraiser if circumstances require.

5) Merchandise Purchases

• Goods sold through our online store comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) administered by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
• Refunds or replacements are available only for faulty or damaged items.
• Change-of-mind refunds are not offered.
• Shipping times may vary depending on supplier or location.)

6) Adoption and Foster Programs

Engagement in any ASPFM animal-care program requires agreement to the relevant terms:

• Foster-to-Adopt Terms and Conditions

Applicants must:

• Be 18 years or older
• Provide accurate information
• Follow ASPFM guidance on welfare and safety

ASPFM retains ownership of all animals until a formal adoption contract is finalised and reserves the right to reclaim animals if welfare or safety concerns arise.

7) Volunteers

ASPFM is entirely volunteer-run. By volunteering, you agree to:

• Represent ASPFM with respect, compassion, and professionalism
• Follow coordinator instructions and safety protocols
• Uphold animal-welfare and confidentiality standards

ASPFM may discontinue a volunteer’s involvement if behaviour conflicts with our values or the welfare of animals.

8) Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information is collected and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We collect only what is necessary to process applications, donations, and communications.
Under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), ASPFM will contact individuals only with consent or an existing relationship, and every message includes an opt-out option.

9) Payments and Security

Payments are processed through secure third-party gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). ASPFM does not store credit-card details.
By completing a payment, you confirm authorisation to use the selected method and agree to our Refunds Policy.

10) Refunds Policy

• Donations and raffle purchases are final and non-refundable.
• Merchandise may be refunded or replaced only if faulty or not as described, in accordance with the ACL.
• Duplicate or erroneous payments should be reported within 7 days to asafeplaceformeowinc@gmail.com.

11) Website Use and Intellectual Property

All content on this website (text, images, graphics, and code) is owned or licensed by ASPFM Inc. and protected by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
You may share content for awareness with appropriate credit. Commercial use or republication requires written permission.

User Submissions and Media

By submitting photos, videos, stories, or updates to ASPFM (including via social media or forms), you grant ASPFM a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that material for adoption promotion, fundraising, education, and community awareness.
ASPFM will not publish personal identifiers without consent.

12) Liability and Disclaimers

ASPFM operates on a volunteer basis and takes reasonable care in all activities.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ASPFM is not liable for loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in our programs or use of our website.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service or refunding a payment made in error.
