On Sunday, 31st August, we gathered for a truly magical evening under the stars at Deckchair Cinema – all in support of the cats and kittens of A Safe Place for Meow.
The film Paddington in Peru brought plenty of laughs and smiles, but the real stars of the night were the incredible people who came along to show their support. From families snuggled up with popcorn, to long-time rescue supporters, to brand-new friends wanting to give back, we were blown away by the love in the crowd.
Thanks to your generosity, every ticket purchased and every donation on the night goes directly towards providing food, litter, and vital vet care for the cats and kittens in our foster network. These funds help us continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats across Darwin and Palmerston.
A huge thank you goes to Deckchair Cinema for hosting us. Their support means the world to our small, volunteer-run rescue. And of course, a big round of applause to our amazing volunteers who made the night possible, from selling raffle tickets to chatting with guests about fostering and adopting.
Events like this remind us how strong our community is when we come together. Every laugh, every raffle ticket sold, and every kind word helps keep us going.
If you missed out on the night but still want to support:
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this night one to remember. 💕
