Become a Foster Carer

Being a foster carer can be one of the most rewarding experiences, for people of all lifestyles: singles, couples and families with children of all ages.
From first purrs to adoption day, you’ll watch a rescued cat blossom and help write their happily-ever-after.
Along the way, children learn empathy, responsibility, resilience, and how to say a loving goodbye when it’s time, making room for the next life to save.

We supply vet care and support, you provide a safe indoor space and lots of love.

Types of Foster Placements

Foster care comes in many forms to suit different needs.

Isolation Carer

Isolation carers play a vital role in giving new arrivals the safest start. A two-week isolation period away from other animals helps us monitor their health, ease their stress, and make sure they’re ready for the next step in care.

Kitten Carer

As a kitten carer, you help our youngest rescues grow and thrive. We have two groups: Kittens (5–24 weeks) and Kit-Teens (24 weeks–1 year). Both are fostered in pairs so they can learn, play, and build confidence together.

Medical Carer

Some cats need extra TLC while recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. Medical carers provide temporary support with medication, monitoring, and comfort, helping them heal safely and feel cared for every step of the way.

Senior Carer

Our senior cats (8+ years) are gentle souls who deserve calm, loving homes. Senior carers offer companionship and kindness, making sure these golden oldies feel safe, cherished, and loved while they wait for their forever family.

Changing Lives

🌸 Miley’s Journey 🌸

When Miley first came into our care, she was scared, unwell, and unsure of the world around her. Everything changed when our amazing foster carer opened their heart and home.
With patience and love, Miley was given the space she needed to feel safe. Day by day, she grew in confidence, trading fear for trust, and blossomed into the beautiful, happy cat she is today.
Fostering is not only life-changing for the cats, it’s deeply rewarding for carers too. Watching a frightened cat grow into a happy, thriving companion is one of the greatest joys, and knowing you’ve been part of that transformation is truly priceless.

FAQ

Do you have any question?

Foster care can be as short as a week or up to around 8 weeks. The length depends on factors like upcoming adoption days, the cat’s temperament, and the photos and updates you’re able to provide to help us promote them for adoption.

When you fill out your Foster Carer Application, you’ll be able to indicate your preferences, for example, whether you’d like to foster adults, kittens, or special cases. You can also let us know things like age, temperament, or if the cat needs to be good with kids or dogs. We’ll always do our best to match your preferences, but we can’t guarantee a specific cat unless it’s already been discussed and confirmed with our team.

You’ll never be out of pocket for vet bills. All vet care is covered by us, provided it’s arranged through our approved vets and has prior approval. When you begin fostering, you’ll be assigned a coordinator who will be available to help with vet appointments, provide advice, and guide you through any medical needs.

If things aren’t going smoothly, please let us know as early as possible. We can offer advice and support to help with common settling-in challenges. If it still isn’t the right fit, we’ll arrange for the cat to be transferred to another carer or returned to us — no judgment, just what’s best for you and the cat.

Absolutely! Many of our foster carer's experience what we lovingly call a “foster fail” when you realise your foster cat is already home.  If that happens, we’ll guide you through the adoption process. Standard adoption fees still apply, as they cover desexing, microchipping, and vet care.
