A Safe Place for Meow Incorporated (ABN 60 520 207 398) (“we/us/our”) provides this website and online store. By using our site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1) About us

2) Using this site

• Be respectful; don’t disrupt the site, attempt unauthorised access, or post unlawful content.
• Information is general in nature. Nothing here is veterinary or legal advice—please consult a professional as needed.

3) Donations, fundraising and shop

• Donations (gifts). Donations to our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) fund may be tax-deductible—we issue receipts that include our name and ABN and state the receipt is for a gift. (Eligibility depends on Australian tax law; keep your receipt.)
• Fundraising contributions & raffles. Tickets, event entries and raffles generally aren’t tax-deductible because you receive a benefit. Where a fundraising event has a deductible portion, the receipt will show the market value of benefits as required.
• Shop/merch. Consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) apply; these rights cannot be excluded by our terms.

4) Prices, payment & receipts

All amounts are in AUD. Payments are processed securely by third-party providers. You’ll receive an email confirmation and, for eligible gifts, a donation receipt.

5) Refunds & cancellations

• Donations: If you donated the wrong amount or donated by mistake, contact us promptly—we may refund at our discretion if funds haven’t been committed.
• Event tickets: If we cancel or significantly change an event, you’ll receive a refund or alternative per ACL.
• Merch: If an item is faulty, not as described, or otherwise eligible under the ACL, you’re entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. For change-of-mind returns, see the product page or contact us. (This statement honours ACL rights.) ACCC

6) Accounts and security

If you create an account, keep your login secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised use.

7) Content and intellectual property

Unless credited otherwise, site content (text, images, logos) belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce it without permission. You retain rights to content you submit (e.g., adoption updates), but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on our platforms with your consent.

8) Third-party services & links

We use third parties (e.g., PetRescue embeds, payment processors, analytics). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services.

9) Privacy, cookies & direct marketing

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information and cookies. Marketing emails/SMS comply with Spam Act 2003—we rely on consent, always identify ourselves and provide an easy unsubscribe.

10) Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that can’t be excluded under the ACL. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from site use and limit any remaining liability to re-supplying the services or the cost of doing so. (ACL guarantees stay in place.)

11) Changes to these Terms

We may update Terms to reflect operational or legal changes. The latest version is posted here with the effective date.

12) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Northern Territory, Australia, and the courts of that jurisdiction.
